EDGE (www.edgescore.com) is a B2B fintech on a mission to expand credit access for consumers historically unserved and underserved by the reports and scores of traditional credit bureaus. We’re doing this with risk analytics based on complementary alternative data that reveals a more complete financial picture.

Founded in 2021, Edge is part of a larger family of fintech brands that sits underneath our parent company, NinjaHoldings (www.ninjaholding.com). NinjaHoldings’ brands also include CreditNinja, a nationwide online consumer lending business established in 2017, and NinjaCard, a neobanking platform focused on consumers in the emerging credit space.

The EDGE business is at an inflection point where we’ve proven our platform’s value with early adopters and we’re ready to go full-throttle into our target markets. Elevating every aspect of our marketing efforts is a critical element in this planned ramp-up.

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to enhance our data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in machine learning, model development, and data infrastructure, coupled with a strong understanding of the fintech environment.

This role requires a blend of technical prowess and strategic thinking to drive projects from conception to deployment, ensuring our analytics capabilities

remain best-in-class.

Location: Chicago, IL
Type: Full-time, Hybrid-Remote (2 days in office/week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models using advanced machine learning techniques to drive strategic decisions and improve product offerings
• Work closely with engineering resources towards the development, improvement, and maintenance of Edge data products and services using Python and SQL
• Perform data analysis and research to uncover trends, validate ideas, and develop proof-of-concepts of our models and data services
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data science and fintech, applying this knowledge to influence our technology strategies.
• 1-5 years of professional experience in data science, analytics engineering, machine learning engineering, or equivalent roles
• Advanced understanding of machine learning, data science, statistics, and their application to solving real world problems
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis using Python and SQL
• Outstanding communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to a non-technical audience
• Familiarity with AWS is a plus
• Previous experience in software engineering is a plus
• Experience in lending or a deep understanding of the lending landscape will be an advantage

Qualifications
