Job Description

We are looking for a talented Associate Creative Director to join our Detroit office. If you love to be the central leader of an interdisciplinary creative team then we would love to talk to you. Associate Creative Directors at Rightpoint are project owners, team leaders and masters of digital craft. They push teams and their project to new heights. They are risk takers and creative innovators. They can spot issues before they turn into problems and collaboratively work with clients at all levels.

What you need to have: 

  • An amazing online portfolio that showcases multiple types of projects and solutions across accounts 
  • Strategic vision and a true mastery for unravelling complex problems and driving teams to their solution 
  • Strong client management skills and business development experience 
  • Design process knowledge from the beginning of strategy all the way through implementation 
  • Ability to prototype just about anything 
  • Advanced research methodologies and analysis 
  • Agency experience 
  • Ability to be a true partner with clients 
  • Understanding of holistic design processes 
  • Rock solid presentation skills that establish trust with clients and teammates 
  • Advanced research methodologies and analysis 
  • A burning passion for extracting the beauty out of a complex problem 
  • A great online portfolio that showcases multiple types of projects and solutions that you have had direct work within and can explicitly demonstrate your contributions  
  • 8-12 years of professional experience in a design or creative field 
  • A tireless desire to learn driven by curiosity 
  • A great collaborative attitude 
  • A pixel-perfect design sensibility  
  • Tight typography chops 
  • Demonstrated ability to use grid systems and apply design best practices 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks 
  • Mastery in the Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and Invision. 
  • Ability to prototype your ideas with fresh thinking 
  • Ability to clearly articulate your point of view utilizing visual storytelling 
  • A burning passion for art and science 
  • Design solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives 
  • Create visual solutions 
  • Apply brand identity systems, typography, photography, color and other items to create innovative solutions that align with business and user needs 
  • Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables 
  • Communicate and succinctly articulate concept rationales 
  • Focused on contributing to an award-winning portfolio of work 
  • Articulate a vision and lead direction of creative for accounts and projects that's informed by business needs and strategy 
  • Develop senior designers as thinkers, leaders, and innovators 
  • Elevate strategic thought and design processes within the Design Group and deliverables. 
  • Provide valuable team member development through leadership, meaningful feedback, timely criticism, and ongoing mentorship 
  • Foster an environment that embodies Rightpoint's core values 
  • Help win new business and grow existing accounts through strategic leadership, nurturing client relationships, and delivering transformational work 
  • Create design briefs and resulting work to ensure the correct level of aspiration and accountability is maintained 
  • Nurture and support creative community-building efforts both internally and externally 
  • Help manage staffing and co-create project plans taking into account team strengths and growth opportunities 

It's also great if you have: 

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or equivalent blend of education and experience 
  • 10+ years' experience in a combination of both the Design and User Experience industries. 
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role in a Digital Agency Environment. 
  • Strong visual design skills with an expert level of understanding of modern tools and techniques 
  • Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills 
  • Superior communication, time-management, and client/relationship management skills 
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities and demonstrated success in leading teams in executing established strategies 
  • Experience in commerce or transactional digital experiences with large B2B clients preferred 
  • Must be a team player with a willingness to help and learn in order to foster an environment of team growth 
  • Additional design education such as certificates, workshops or internships 
  • A healthy collection of travel based life hacks 
  • Agency experience 
  • Motion Graphic capabilities  
  • Additional design education such as certificates, workshops or internships 
  • Basic understanding of front end development 
  • 2-3 years in a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
