The Manager, Global Tax Accounting will support the Company's US GAAP income tax accounting and reporting for the global function, including the Company's reporting of income taxes and related disclosures for annual and interim reporting periods and forecasts for management. The Manager, Global Tax Accounting, will also support the consolidation process and ensure complete and accurate tax accounting calculations are delivered in a timely manner, including income tax expense, deferred taxes and current taxes payable.
The position includes responsibilities related to various other global processes, including maintaining tax accounting and reporting controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards for those allocated areas of responsibility.
This person will work closely with other finance functions such as financial planning & analysis, consolidations, corporate accounting and regional finance teams as well as other areas of global tax. The individual will be responsible for coordination with such teams as needed to support tax accounting processes. In addition, the position is expected to contribute to a high-performing Global Tax Accounting team (the team encompasses Mondelez International employees as well as the EY GCR (tax accounting) team). The Manager, Global Tax Accounting will also invest in personal development and contribute to the tax talent agenda globally.
The position is also expected to support internal projects. These projects will focus on streamlining, standardizing, simplifying and/or developing guidance around tax processes, specific to tax accounting but also for the greater Global Tax team.
Responsibility for the above tasks requires exceptional organizational skills and a passion for continual learning in order to best support the global tax accounting function. Being efficient is critical to meet deadlines and be successful in day-to-day activities. Proficiency in excel is required and an endeavor to improve excel skills or improve knowledge and skills in other tools used for data analytics will be an asset.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare/support the ETR consolidation and associated processes (including but not limited to balance sheet netting, tax account rollforward, reporting level taxes, etc.).
  • Review tax accounting submissions for assigned corporate responsibilities.
  • Analyze the tax accounting implications from significant transactions, tax planning projects and pending legislation.
  • Support the global tax accounting team to enhance and simplify tax accounting processes to efficiently support tax planning and other finance functions.
  • Provide US GAAP tax accounting guidance to local and regional tax and finance teams, as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with tax accounting controls and maintain documentation to evidence reviews and other control activities, for allocated areas of responsibility.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation required
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation and/or CPA designation preferred
  • 7 or more years of experience in tax accounting of a multinational company; at least 3 years of reviewing US GAAP income tax provisions
  • Big Four public accounting experience in tax strongly preferred
  • Proficiency using SharePoint and OneSource Tax Provision
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced Excel capabilities to work with large quantities of data
  • Critical thinking and data analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to challenge tax colleagues on technical matters and support positions taken based on tax knowledge and application of ASC 740 tax accounting principles
  • Technical knowledge of US and international tax principles preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in complex situations with tight deadlines while delivering a high-quality work product
  • Adaptable, able to respond to a rapidly changing environment
  • Sound judgment and decision-making; comfort making decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
