Overview
Home Chef is recruiting Operations interns for the summer of 2023 with the option for an earlier start. The interns will be based out of our Corporate Office located in Chicago, Illinois. Interns will support the Operations team with ad hoc projects including new process startups, tool enhancements, facility launch support, supporting standardization across the enterprise, and other gap and data analyses as assigned. You will gain experience in the meal solutions industry and exposure to operations practices at the corporate and plant level.
Responsibilities
Responsibility Area: Project Management
- Prepare and assist in project documentation, including identifying project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, and deadlines.
- Working with stakeholders to execute against project goals
Responsibility Area: Conduct Analysis and Put Together Reports on KPIs
- Pull relevant data from Home Chef systems and put together reports / dashboards in Google sheets
- Drive process improvements via data driven decision making
Responsibility Area: Provide data entry in Home Chef databases
- Assist in data cleanup inside of Home Chef systems as we continue to grow and refine processes (e.g. ingredients database)
Responsibility Area: Development of Professional Toolkit
- Build presentations and report out to Operations leadership on project status
- Attend learning and development classes hosted by various leaders across the organization, building skills in deck building, reporting, project management, etc.
This position requires up to 25% travel depending on the project assigned. Travel would be to our production facilities to support projects as needed.

- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, supply chain or a related field in operations
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office, ability to pick up on new technology tools quickly
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects at a time
