Job Description

Position Overview

Invenergy is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Senior KYC Analyst to support our growing Legal team. This individual will be based out of Invenergy’s Chicago office and will report directly to the Corporate Paralegal Manager. Key responsibilities include assisting Invenergy’s Legal team with the management, review, response, and remediation of incoming Know Your Customer (“KYC”) requests.

To be successful in this role, the right candidate will need to have excellent communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to collect information from varying sources and summarize that information in a simple way for managerial / stakeholder understanding. In addition, this person will need the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at varying levels, ranging from entry-level employees to senior management. 

Responsibilities

  • Support review, response and remediation of incoming KYC requests needed in connection with the establishment of new bank accounts.

  • Review and evaluate KYC requests for their legitimacy, confirming appropriate NDA/confidentiality provisions are in place (as applicable).

  • Respond to ongoing account renewals performed by various financial institutions in connection with Invenergy companies.

  • Collect and aggregate supporting documentation in response to KYC requests and renewals, such as company, officer, owner, investor, and entity-specific information to prepare responses to KYC requests for information from financial institutions and other entities.

  • Validate KYC supporting documentation for accuracy by coordinating with various internal stakeholders, such as corporate paralegals, commercial, tax, treasury, financial reporting, accounting and financial operations team members.

  • Save and send final KYC documentation with appropriate level(s) of security, such as password protection of sensitive information.

  • Maintain internal database of all KYC requests and renewal requests, keeping information up-to-date and accurate.

  • Escalate KYC questions and / or issues to senior management in an organized and timely manner.

  • Support in the development and implementation of processes to ensure compliance with Corporate Transparency Act.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Spanish.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a law firm setting.

  • Experience working with documentation required to form, maintain, amend, merge and dissolve corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies in multiple states and countries.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or certification related to law or compliance and KYC, anti-money laundering, fraud and corruption prevention, and criminal risks associated with business activities, among others.
  • Experience working with IT solutions, APPs, and databases (public databases, world check, Refinitiv, Adobe, among others).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining high quality of work product.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on the situation.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
