Your impact
In your role as Senior Technical Writer you will research, write, edit, proofread, validate and publish a variety of maintenance documentation which may include but not be limited to Service Bulletins (hardware/software), Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Part Catalogs, and Wiring Diagram Manuals.
What you will do

• Create and/or revise documents in S1000D using a Common Source Database (CSDB)
• Create and/or revise documents per iSPEC2200 using FrameMaker
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations and Program Management
• Coordinate your work activity, status, and schedule your manager.
• Leverage available data sources to ensure that your documents are clear, logical, accurate and update to date including but not limited to:
  • Redlines
  • Installation Drawings
  • Wiring Diagrams
  • Specifications
  • Interviewing subject matter experts such as Engineers, Project Engineers, and Program Managers
• Deliver quality, technically accurate, complete, technical publications leveraging established processes.
• Coordinate the review and release of publication products with customers and other external organizations to classify and track discrepancies noted through the review process.
• Mentor more junior colleagues to create best practice manuals and Service Bulletins

Your required experience/skills

• Bachelor's Degree (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• A minimum of 3-5 years of recent, relevant experience creating and modifying maintenance documentation
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Advanced experience with Structured FrameMaker or Arbortext. Experience with S1000D XML.
• Demonstrated experience with illustrating programs such as Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator.
• Proven Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, charts, wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly/test procedures.
• The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing including via presentations, including understanding grammatical conventions and writing in a clear and fluent manner.
• Experience in Supplier Management

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to obtain necessary information to delivery required outputs
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines

It would be nice if you had:

• Degree in Communications, Technical Writing, English or relevant subject.
• Experience using Windchill Content Management System or equivalent.
• Experience working in an IFEC company or Aerospace Company.
• Experience using a document management system such as Agile.
• Ability to provide technical direction and mentor assigned project team(s).
