Accounting Operations Manager
The Accounting Operations Manager is responsible for managing an operational team with a high volume of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). This requires oversight of the accounting and reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies. In addition to overseeing these duties, the individual should be able to assist in designing and implementing scalable systems, controls, and processes to support growth (especially as it relates to the billing and payment systems).
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the oversight, management, and strategy of the AR (including billing and collections) and AP functions.
- Identifies process inefficiencies to improve accuracy, timeliness in the AR and AP processes.
- Optimizes for scale the internal and external customer service model for ease of use. Monitors and manages relationships with external customers and internal business partners.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to resolve operational pain points and customer issues.
- Provides leadership related to the identification, selection, implementation and documentation of appropriate accounting operations' policies, procedures, and systems.
- Assists with analysis for annual budgets and monthly forecast.
- Manages audit requests from internal and external sources.
- Oversees the sales/use and property tax filings for various jurisdictions.
- Records and/or reviews intercompany transactions (currently limited).
- Oversees the proper closing of the AR and AP subledgers during the month end close process.
- Monitors expenses, balance sheet, and cash flow activity and prepare special reports.
- Ensures that internal controls and company specific policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Assists in trend analysis and analytics over key accounts.
- Produces and/or reviews recurring reporting on a weekly and monthly basis tied to cash analysis and
- AR and AP analytics (e.g., DPOs, DSOs, Agings, etc.).
- Ad hoc reporting and projects as requested
Qualifications
- 7+ years of accounting operations experience with in-depth knowledge of accounts receivable and
accounts payable. - 2+ years of experience managing an accounting team.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced
growing organization. - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships.
