Quality Assurance Engineer
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you are responsible for manual testing, triage, and test case creation for potential product defects and new features; improving the response time to reports of product defects or issues; and ensuring the accuracy of the defect backlog.
Starting base pay for this role is between $70,000 and $100,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, training, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will be eligible for a bonus as well as competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits, wellness reimbursement, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. We offer vacation and sick leave benefits (under a flexible time off policy in most states).
Responsibilities
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and assesses submitted product defect tickets, leveraging Product and Development teams to maintain SLAs.
- Ensures new feature requirements specified on tickets meet or exceed expectations.
- Communicates effectively in a clear manner with Developers, Product, and Service staff, using empathy and diplomacy.
- Performs manual functional, regression, API, exploratory, UI/UX, accessibility, and database testing; with support and training may perform automation, security, performance, or other testing.
- Assists with implementing a company-wide culture of quality by suggesting areas for improvement, contributing to documentation, and methods of 'Quality of Culture' socialization.
- Acts as the liaison between Service, Product Management, and Development in defect ticket triage, and ultimate resolution.
- Documents product challenges and problem areas for future product enhancements.
- Contributes to troubleshooting guides and FAQ resources to help limit the number of "invalid" product defects.
- Maintains accuracy and organization of the defect backlog.
- Tests defects and product enhancements after code changes are deployed.
- Creates test cases for bug fixes and product enhancements using Testrail or similar TCM software and suggests appropriate tests for regression and smoke suites.
- Assists in creation of long-term strategic goals for maintaining product quality.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots JavaScript.
- Interacts with different members to ensure successful delivery of each sprint iteration and product release.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Technology or relevant field of study
- 2+ years' experience in technology support or Quality Assurance role
- 5+ years' experience in technology support or Quality Assurance role for Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
- Experience with bug tracking software such as JIRA
- Experience with SaaS products
- Familiarity with JavaScript or other scripting language
- Familiarity with SQL or other databases
- Strong understanding of SDLC
- Familiarity with Selenium or other automation tool a bonus
