The Chicago tech scene is on fire.

At the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in the Midwest, technology leaders from two local companies went home with shiny new trophies last night. At the black-tie event in Chicago Wednesday night, both Avant, a tech-driven financial company that's revolutionizing the personal loan process, and Signal, a global leader in real-time, cross-channel marketing technology, took home awards.

Avant's CEO and cofounder Al Goldstein received the prestigious award in the Consumer Services category, while Signal's Michael Sands, CEO; Marc Kiven, Founder and Chief Revenue Officer; and Eric Lunt, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, were named as Entrepreneurs of the Year in Technology.

The group of leading entrepreneurs who make up this year's winners was selected by an independent panel of judges, which include former Entrepreneur of the Year winners, leading CEOs, private capital investors, and other business leaders in the region.

Other winners included entreprenuers from Rightpoint, Shred415, Sargento Food Inc., Sparton Corporation, Horizon Pharma, and Enjoy Life Natural Brands, LLC, with a special Master Entreprenuer Award presented to J.B. Pritzker of Pritzker Group, for his business and philanthropic leadership.
