Clever Carnivore opened a new HQ. The company makes real meat products using a lab process that involves bioengineering and stem cells, thus cutting out the need for livestock. Founded by a Northwestern University professor, Clever Carnivore recently opened a headquarters and lab in Lincoln Park, which is near some of the city’s top universities. MFGWorx was featured in Built In Chicago’s Future 5 series. MFGWork is a recruiting platform that is aimed at the manufacturing industry. The company emphasizes connecting with candidates over text instead of email to speed up the recruiting process. Discover announced big hiring plans. Discover, the Illinois-based financial institution, announced that it will hire more than 75 new employees in the next year, while also launching a new career development program for new employees. The new program, called The Advanced Analytics Resource Center (AARC@606), is based out of Discover’s downtown office. The company is also hiring at its office in Chatham, a neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. The company hopes to have 1,000 employees in the Chatham office by 2024. [Built In Chicago]
Visual Feeder lit up Mag Mile. Visual Feeder collaborated with P33 in an ad campaign that used Visual Feeder’s projection mapping technology on vacant downtown storefronts. The campaign showcased portraits of Chicago’s tech leaders and was meant to grow the city's recognition as a tech town. Relativity Acquired Heretik. Relativity is a software company that uses AI to manage and analyze large datasets at fast speeds. Last week, the company announced that it will acquire Heretik and integrate its product into its platform.
