Chamberlain Group operates a portfolio of brands that works to transform how people access their homes, communities, workplaces and businesses. Through a partnership with Honda, the company announced Tuesday the latest integration for its in-vehicle service, myQ Connected Garage.

MyQ Connected Garage allows drivers to open, close and monitor their garage doors from anywhere via their dashboard display screens. The technology is compatible with more than 6 million Honda and Acura vehicles currently on the road, as well as just about all garage door openers on the market. The software is currently available as a free 30-day demo subscription through the HondaLink and AcuraLink connected vehicle apps.

“Today…drivers are limited by the ability to only open and close the garage door within line of sight of the door,” Jim Trainor, SVP and general manager of automotive for Chamberlain Group, said in a statement. “MyQ Connected Garage is enhancing that well-known experience by offering drivers a more convenient way to check, open and close the garage door from anywhere with mobile data service.”

MyQ Connected Garage is already available in certain Tesla, Volkswagen, Mercedes and Mitsubishi vehicles. The integration will be available in all 2023 and 2024 Honda and Acura models through their Apple CarPlay or Android Auto interfaces, though the software is compatible today with older Honda and Acura models that support these systems.
