What You'll Do
Discover's General Business Undergraduate Leadership Program is an exciting 2-year rotational program with opportunities for highly motivated individuals who are interested in exploring a host of disciplines within Discover.

Participants can expect:

  • Rotations aimed at aligning personal talents with business initiatives


  • Challenging and impactful work assignments that support Discover's strategic priorities and objectives

How You'll Do It

  • Actively contributes to developing solutions to business problems using a wide set of key factors which involve critical thinking and problem solving skills. Effectively manages competing projects and priorities to meet key goals and objectives and ensure successful completion and delivery.


  • Engages with cross-functional teams utilizing a variety of techniques to understand key stakeholders' concerns, while also being able to address them and gain buy in. This includes: coordinating and facilitating meetings, capturing and clearly articulating notes, key actions, and potential issues/risks. Ability to work with a wide variety of key stakeholders, including senior level leaders, front line customer service agents, and peers.


  • Creates communications verbally and in writing on project initiatives and results. Communicates insights and conclusions utilizing a variety of graphs, charts, and other methods to tell a story to manager, key stakeholders and business leaders.


  • Identifies different sources of data and utilizes software (i.e. Excel, SQL, SAS, Tableau, etc.) to both analyze and manipulate data to achieve insights and conclusions which can be shared to help drive business decisions.


  • Establishes a solid understanding of the business and brings fresh ideas to improve processes and generate efficiencies with a strong customer service focus.



Qualifications You'll Need

The Basics

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, Social Sciences; Engineering; Accounting; Finance; Information Technology; Analytics, or related


  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship



Bonus Points If You Have

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate ideas into clear priorities


  • High energy and intellectual curiosity


  • Strong analytical skills and a consultative approach to addressing customer needs


  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of financial industry, risk management, and business metrics


  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS


  • Proficiency in visual data management, i.e. Excel, Tableau


  • Experience with Digital Design and Customer User Experience


  • Experience with Agile project management methodology


  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively


  • Ability to apply previous experience and knowledge to new situations and problems


  • Operates as a team player

Compensation:
The base pay for this role is $72,000.00 annually. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
