Job Description

Data Engineer, Operations Engineering

Position Overview

The Data Engineer, Operations Engineering primarily provides technical support to a large operating fleet of renewable energy projects by designing, deploying, testing, and maintaining critical software, data architectures, and pipelines which support the business and analytics needs of the Operations Engineering team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop architecture & maintain databases of critical equipment metadata
  • Manage data flows that feed real-time predictive models
  • Work closely with field experts, business & data analysts, IT and SCADA teams to solve data access, architecture, and process automation needs
  • Collaborate with operations teams to design, develop, and test internal software at scale
  • Deploy and maintain environments for real-time analytics and anomaly detection
  • Program custom software to meet internal requests for process automation
  • Manage the ETL process for transforming operational SCADA data into self-service data warehouses & BI applications
  • Clean and load streaming & batch-style client-provided operational data to enable in-house analytics-as-a-service
  • Empower subject matter experts with access to non-SCADA data
  • Maintain code repository with version control

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related discipline
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, PySpark
  • Familiarity with Microsoft's PowerPlatform and/or other automation tools
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with software development lifecycle and understanding of version control systems
  • Experience with database architecture & management
  • Experience with IoT, telemetry, and time-series data
  • Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure
  • Strong initiative, collaborative, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with non-relational databases such as NoSQL
  • Experience with AVEVA PI products
  • Experience with renewable energy technology, especially wind, solar, and storage
  • Familiarity with data visualization / business intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Base Pay

$90,000.00 - $115,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 10% - 25%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
 
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance. Your recruiter can share more about bonus eligibility for this position during the hiring process.
