Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced support to automation line to meet machine availability, performance and quality metrics
  • Troubleshoot problems with processes and hardware including pneumatics, electrical, PLC logic, vision cameras, barcode scanners, robotics, servo axis and networking/database 
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors in order to resolve complex problems and implement solutions
  • Perform PLC logic, robotic and HMI program modifications to support product changes and/or machine optimization
  • Maintain program backups for all automation equipment
  • Plan preventive maintenance
  • Analyze machine performance metrics and identify room for continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls, pneumatic, hydraulic operation
  • Ability to work independently and maintain project timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle stress and adapt based on production needs.
  • Proficient with PLCs software tools, HMIs, and sensors
  • Proficient with robots; AAB, Epson, Kawasaki, Fanuc
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a Manufacturing or Automation environment preferred.

Candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area to be considered for this position.


Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Must have knowledge of various applications and programming utilizing development environments such as Visual Basic, and C# required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
