The Role


Inspectors perform inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes. Conducts packaging line, inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met. May draft procedures and assist with validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays. Apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated.

General Focus:

  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
  • Understand and assist with any inventory transactions and data recording required for Intelsat's products.
  • Assist with physical inventory requirements as required.


Inspection Focus:

  • Perform accurate visual, dimensional, mechanical, and/or functional inspection of materials per inspection plans, drawings, and other specification requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications, schematics, and/or design drawings.
  • Inspect and file/record incoming material history records.
  • Initiate material nonconformance reports, as required. Ensure that the report contains accurate and sufficient detail of compliance or the cause(s) of failure and recommended correction(s).
  • Learn, understand, and use the processes and procedures for Intelsat products.
  • Assist with maintaining AS9100 production test requirements and certification.
  • Review and process supplier First Article Inspections.
  • Assist with preparing internal First Article Inspections.
  • Work with internal Intelsat resources to effectively resolve inspection questions and/or issues.
  • Support supplier audits.
  • Assist with Incoming Inspection plan development.
  • Supports Calibration program administration.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies, problem orders and intercompany transfer issues.



  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • 3-5 years of related aerospace experience.
  • AS9100 Experience
  • Previous visual and mechanical inspection background with the ability to use basic hand measurement tools (Calipers, micrometers, etc.), as well as higher precision measuring, optical inspection, and/or non-destructive evaluation equipment.
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.

  • Previous ARD/ODAR experience issuing 8130-3 Airworthiness Release Tags
  • Prior experience working in IFE/IFC hardware.
  • Skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
