The Role

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Marketing at CRSP will oversee the development and implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns for the entire CRSP enterprise. This role will drive the collaborative development of the overall marketing strategy in alignment with CRSP's evolving business objectives and requires close collaboration with leadership and externally-facing senior staff. Responsibilities include developing and coordinating the implementation of marketing policies, campaigns, and activities as well as pursuing market research, advertising, and promotion initiatives to enhance and expand awareness of CRSP and the CRSP brand. Responsible for analyzing program success and incorporating insights into future planning.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development and coordinating the implementation and execution of CRSP's marketing plan. This plan must include marketing research data related to academic institutions and commercial/governmental research departments, investable index data for fund managers and related broker/dealers and market participants, as well as to researchers and consultants from all segments.
  • Serves as central point of coordination and evaluation of the effectiveness of CRSP's marketing and promotional activities, and the effectiveness of advisors & consultants in this arena. Initiates the collection and development of relevant performance data and tracking reports for marketing programs, consolidating information, and providing end-to-end metrics visibility.
  • Collaborates with Communications, which is responsible for the development of marketing materials, developing/refining language to convey the intended meaning, and executing distribution via various media including email and internal and external websites, and for operational collaboration with retained third parties.
  • Collaborates with the LTeam, CRSP Legal, and UC Communications on the selection and engagement of external consulting and management/execution resources related to marketing.
  • Provides strategic direction for CRSP marketing initiatives and campaigns, including oversight of the management and coordination of marketing communication vehicles, including marketing-specific collateral, communication releases and other sales tools.
  • Ensure the enhancement of CRSP's "Brand Identity" and business expansion through facilitating the development and selection of advertising, tradeshow, conference, and marketing campaigns targeted by data analysis and the evolving marketing plan.
  • Analyzes licensing/sales data in comparison to the marketing plan to evaluate which consultants, campaigns, and approaches were the most effective.
  • Establish the deep understanding of our market, customer segments, and products necessary to effectively contribute to building powerful campaigns. Test, identify, and diversify marketing programs in a way that will maximize results.
  • Collaborates with senior management and internal subject matter experts to ensure the marketing plan is coordinated with product/project and business development plans and feedback developed from current and prospective clients.
  • Partner with the Licensing/Sales, Communications, and Client Services teams to refine the marketing content, such as proposal or pitch deck, introduction materials, after-meeting follow up materials, and any unique needs to promote CRSP products effectively.
  • Collaborates with leadership team in the development of growth plans for the firm.
  • Identifies, analyzes and evaluates current and potential market segments for promotion opportunities through the analysis of academic, commercial and government client data for segments that will benefit from CRSP products.
  • Consults and advises management on the marketing implications of various company policies and activities.
  • Collaborates with Communications team for press releases and media integration.
  • Advises senior leadership regarding the evolution of CRSP's competitive position informed by competitive intelligence and brand position/perception mapping to help define the best marketplace and strategy for our products.
  • Maintain knowledge on emerging products and services that may impact or be relevant to CRSP.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Master's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree acceptable with additional professional development, and a minimum of 12 years of progressive successful experience in marketing development and strategic planning.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive successful experience in marketing, new business development, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in the U.S. financial industry.
  • Experience with LinkedIn campaigns and capabilities.
  • Innovation and creativity to create new strategies to enhance brand recognition and attract customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess current and potential markets for development opportunities through management, organization, and analysis of both academic and commercial client data required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in recognizing brand opportunities and impact required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing strategies and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative skills to accept and incorporate ideas into strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.


PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 11+ years experience in marketing.
  • Established financial industry press contacts.
  • Experience working with a variety of agencies and knowledge of their areas of expertise.


LOCATION: Hybrid Work Environment - CRSP Office is located at 105 W. Adams St., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL
WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time - 8:30-5 normal working hours
HOURS/WEEK: 37.5
