Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineer at its facility located at 540 W Madison St, #310, Chicago IL 60661.
Provide technical leadership in solution development, implementation, and support for Caterpillar's Google Marketing & Analytics Platforms. Act as a Google Analytics implementation specialist and will be responsible for site development team coordination, advanced implementations of Google Analytics, auditing and troubleshooting existing configurations, and reporting, dashboards, and education to improve clients' digital marketing initiatives. Other responsibilities include: Educating developers on the importance of quality Google Analytics data collection and providing best practice guidance for technical aspects of implementation, Providing instruction on campaign tagging, 3p Tagging and additional Google Analytics Integration implementations, Providing guidance to data analysts teams and acting as SME for production of Google Analytics dashboards and analyses, Performing ad-hoc analysis for business partners and reporting, Contributing to a team environment, assisting with documentation, on-going education, and other impactful opportunities to contribute to the overall team success and knowledge growth related to Google Marketing Platform, specifically Google Analytics, and being an advocate for education, always growing in your knowledge of the world of digital analytics. Typical customers include dealers, other external companies who support Caterpillar as well as internal business unit and/or service center groups. Quickly and correctly identify problems that may not be obvious. Solve problems by determining the best course of action within departmental guidelines from many existing solutions. Set priorities with Product Management team direction and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results. Participate in brainstorming sessions focused on developing approaches to meeting required deliverables.
REQS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and Five (5) years of experience as a Software Developer, Technology Analyst, or related occupation implementing Google Analytics 360 or GA4 via Google Tag Manager. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Google Analytics Individual Qualification; (2) HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the document object model related to analytics tagging with Google Tag Manager; (3) SQL for query writing for analysis and reporting; (4) Cookie consent management experience related to Google marketing platform data collection; (5) Digital Marketing technologies, including campaign tracking and Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud Google Analytics integrations; (6) Google Analytics GA4 experience; (7) GCP Big Query, Microsoft Excel, Tableau Software, Power BI, data analysis methodologies, and execution; and (8) Agile DevOPs tool (Azure DevOps, or Jira).
