Job Description:
VP, HR Consulting
The VP, HR Consulting is responsible for leading Discover's HR Strategic Business Partner Team to provide strategic advice and counsel to Discover's business leaders. The leader of this group must be able to communicate effectively, establish clear expectations, align strategy to organizational needs, and be able to pivot as needed to address changing needs and expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a HR business partner, a deep understanding of HR practices, and the ability to effectively lead and drive change.
This VP will partner with Discover's leaders and HR Team, demonstrate behaviors to foster a culture of inclusion while promoting a positive work environment in alignment with Discover's culture.
Responsibilities

  • Provides direction, management, oversight, and development of the HRC Team.
  • Partner with business leaders and HR COE's to develop and implement effective talent strategies in alignment with business needs and our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Act as a thought partner to HRCs by leveraging creativity, design thinking and a continuous improvement mindset to address operational issues and influence business decisions.
  • Partners with HR COEs to identify the HR levers (selection, diversity, job design, training, compensation, recognition) that will improve the impact of organizational capability on business outcomes.
  • Provide advice and counsel to senior/executive leaders within the. business to develop and execute HR strategies that support business goals
  • Develop the capabilities and capacity of the HRC Team to enhance their professional knowledge and skills through formal development, participation in initiatives, and diverse experiences.
  • Conduct organizational assessments and diagnostics to identify gaps, issues and opportunities or improvement in the structure, processes, roles, capabilities, and health of the organization. Leverage data, analytics and best practices to inform recommendations.
  • Effectively communicate with leaders and HR colleagues to facilitate the design, development and delivery of HR solutions.
  • Provide strategic leadership in planning, implementing and maintaining the human resource policies and procedures to support the company's operations and business goals.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, Audit to ensure policies and practices comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and are administered consistently throughout the company


Qualifications

  • 15+ years Human Resources, HR Business Partner, HR Consulting or Talent Acquisition
  • Bachelor's degree, Human Resources, Business Administration and Management
  • Masters Degree, Business Administration and Management Preferred
