Our Excel add-in connects your existing spreadsheets to our Cloud data management service, which provides replication, security, revision control, basic workflow, and search for these applications. We’re allowing ordinary business users to publish their data to colleagues and outside parties as real data, not just embalmed files, which allows other users to easily remix the data in new ways. Today, Excel files are essentially unstructured data, and users must copy, paste, and reformat the data from these files in order to remix it in new ways.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, 'sans serif'; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">Users today have no reliable method for consuming data that is produced in Excel. Spreadsheet links are based on filepaths and are extremely dangerous and unreliable; they can be corrupted by renaming files or inserting additional data, and cannot be reliably used outside of the computer that originally authored them.&nbsp;</span></p><p><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, 'sans serif'; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, 'sans serif'; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">By treating Excel as a datasource instead of just as a document, our users are creating new kinds of applications that formerly would have required custom development.</span></p>
