What you'll do

  • Analyse the current state of Security, business objectives, customer needs, product adoption inhibitors, and industry trends.
  • In close collaboration with your security and engineering partners, you'll define a long-term strategy and roadmap for Security.
  • Translate the strategy and platform/product requirements into technical requirements and solutions in collaboration with your partner teams and engineering counterparts.
  • Lead the execution of the articulated roadmap.
  • Drive adoption/usage of your solutions and tools across Atlassian products and external partners and customers.
  • You'll be the owner of your domain, you'll identify and solve any inhibitors, issues or opportunities for your platform/products, programs and customer scenarios.
  • As a Principal TPM of the Security community, you'll drive some of the most complex, cross-divisional projects - including managing complex dependencies and projects with a broad scope across the company


Your background

  • Recent relevant experience as a Principal Technical Product Manager or from similar positions leading software teams such as Principal Technical Program Manager, Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineering/Development Manager.
  • You'll have either worked on teams that are building commercial security products, or building Cloud Services using security products and partnering with internal security teams - we need you to have security expertise from exposure working in one of these scenarios.
  • You'll be an expert in various security technologies, such as anti-malware, threat protection, vulnerability management, security operations centres, anti-phishing, and threat analysis.
  • For technical depth, you'll be able to demonstrate your understanding of how back end systems are designed and architected, and have experience influencing architecture or technical design leveraging your subject matter expertise.
  • 8+ years experience shaping technical product strategy and leading the execution in close collaboration with security and engineering stakeholders, and working with multiple teams across numerous crafts and product areas.
  • Experience analysing business priorities, customer needs, industry trends and articulating a long-term roadmap for your domain in security.
  • Able to translate customer and/or product requirements into technical requirements
  • Experience driving projects spanning multiple teams, identifying and mitigating risks, making trade-off decisions and optimising the outcome


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $205,700 - $274,300
Zone B: $185,200 - $246,900
Zone C: $170,800 - $227,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
